What works today?
The student release is free and account-free, with local processing, reports and encrypted backups. Advisor and administration views use synthetic data. Operational institutional sharing and signed contracts are not announced.
How could Kamin earn revenue? — a proposal to test
- Proposed buyer: the university or career center, not the student.
- Annual license: advisor tools, capability-map governance and updates, scoped by institution and authorized users.
- Separate services: integration setup, catalog review and advisor training. These are not purchasable production services today.
- Price after validation: willingness-to-pay interviews followed by a scoped pilot with agreed success criteria; no published prices or earned revenue claims.
- Fixed boundary: no selling student data or commissions that change pathway ordering.
Institutional verification: what needs to be built?
- Identify an authorized issuer, its scope and responsibilities, and the pilot approvals.
- Accept a signed assertion or official integration; verify issuer, signature, scope, expiry and revocation.
- Separate student declaration, advisor review, issuer verification, expired and revoked states. Uploading a file or typing a university name cannot upgrade evidence.
- Test rejection of unknown issuers, invalid signatures, expired records and post-issuance revocation. Retain source and scope for every claim.
- Launch a bounded pilot only after approval, with correction, withdrawal, access review and an audit trail.
Current status: roadmap only; institutional verification is not active.
A proposed nine-month evaluation
A working product and initial pilot by semester end, with follow-up within a nine-month validation plan in the ten-month project. Three colleges and 60 participants are exploratory targets, not confirmed recruitment. Begin with approvals and a frozen protocol, using synthetic data before any real record. Publish results and limits after measurement. Psychometrics require a separate Saudi study; employer access is a later phase.
